Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center

Dr. Tortora has served as the Senior Dance/Movement Therapist at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center’s Integrative Medicine department since 2003. It is a role and program she was hired to develop through the generosity and support of Dréa’s Dream- The Andréa Rizzo Foundation. Dr. Tortora also serves as International Medical Creative Therapies Spokesperson for the foundation.

At Memorial Sloan Kettering Dr. Tortora provides care to pediatric cancer patients. She has written about and presented on the use of Dance/Movement Therapy with children with acute medical illness around the world and is the co-author of the forthcoming book: Dance/Movement Therapy for Infants and Children with Medical Illness: Treating Somatic and Psychic Distress with Miri Keren, MD.
